June may just be the BEST time of year to enjoy Charleston! The weather is practically perfect, the month begins with the “WV Pride Parade & Festival”, “FestivALL” celebrates its 19th year of bringing live music, visual art, theatre, dance, film and more at venues all over town AND the month ends with the beginning of “The Charleston Sternwheel Regatta”! Music, parades, and art! Oh, my!
“FestivALL” runs from June 9th through the 18th. For a complete schedule of events, visit the website. “Three Things” promises another entertaining roster of speakers this month as Margaret O’Neal, Erika Connelly, & Ted Brightwell as “Vicki Williams” discuss their personal stories at the Capitol Market on June 14. West Virginia’s first James Beard Finalist, Chef Paul Smith, continues his step-by-step sharing of recipes at the ever popular “Let’s Get Cooking”, also held at Capitol Market.
The Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center (CC&CC) is the site for several entertaining events this month.

Baseball fans have plenty of games to enjoy as the month begins with the “WWSSAC Baseball Tournament” at GoMart Ballpark, then can move on to Shawnee Sports Complex as the “PBR-West Virginia Open” takes to the field during the last weekend of June.
Juneteenth is being celebrated at the WV State Capitol grounds with an exciting concert by the American R&B group “Dru Hill”. “Mountain Stage” has two shows at the WV Culture Center this month, then the month ends as the “Charleston Sternwheel Regatta” begins with a terrific concert at Haddad Riverfront Park, opening with “The Crunch” and headlining with “Better Than Ezra”!
