OCTOBER 2022
As the temperature drops, the outdoor opportunities for enjoying Charleston may also decline, but there is still plenty of fun to be had! After a 2 year hiatus, the state’s largest indoor Art and Craft show at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center (CC&CC) is back and better than ever! With gorgeous hand-crafted works of art and local food gifts, it’s a great place to do some Christmas shopping!
The Charleston Light Opera Guild’s performances of “The Music Man” continue for a few more days and there is a nice variety of concerts in town this month. Hard rock comes to the CC&CC when “Trinity of Terror: Ice Nine Killers” makes their first area performance, as does heavy metal band “Five Finger Death Punch” who is appearing with country-rock star Brantley Gilbert. Country singer, Justin Moore performs at the Municipal Auditorium on Nov. 12.
Plans are developing for a “Holly Jolly Brawley” celebration on the new City Center at Slack Plaza during the holidays. Stay tuned for details as they become available.
Charleston is 100% Autumn and it is such a beautiful city. When family and friends come to visit for Thanksgiving or “Friendsgiving”, there is so much to see and enjoy. There are new restaurants to check out, the newly remodeled Kanawha County Public Library has plenty to do for all ages, and the Clay Center always has something going on, especially in their amazing Avampato Discovery Museum.
With the winter holidays just around the corner, now is the perfect time to chill and relax while we can!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
