JANUARY 2022

Happy New Year! Here’s to hoping the COVID pandemic is finally going away and life slowly is getting back to “normal”! The WV Culture Center performances are once again back to full capacity. Of course, that can change if there is another unexpected resurgence of the virus. New restaurants have opened recently to give Charlestonians even more extremely cool dining options. There is a LOT going on at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center (the CC&CC). Life is good!

If you haven’t already downloaded the new app, the Charleston Guide, now is the time to do it. It is a convenient way to explore what Charleston has to offer, including lodging, activities, restaurants, shopping, and more.

The WV Culture Center at the State Capitol Complex continues to offer the Juried Exhibition daily until Feb. 19.  This features 110 pieces of art, representing several different creative media. 25 WV counties are represented in the art display.

When the Harlem Globetrotters come to town this month, they will be bringing their newly reimagined Spread Game tour. The new show will showcase the best of the amazing talent and game the Globetrotters have to offer.

The CC&CC will also be the venue for Winter Jam 2022. Christian music’s biggest multi-artist tour returns on Jan. 7. Another highly anticipated annual event is the Charleston Wedding Expo. All brides-to-be enjoy the ultimate “one stop shop” for planning their big day, regardless of the size or venue of their dream wedding.

The WV Hunting and Fishing show returns to the CC&CC for the 34th consecutive year! It features exhibitors from as far away as Alaska, New Zealand, Spain, and Africa. In conjunction with the show, The WV Whitetail Hall of Fame provides the opportunity for hunters to bring their deer trophies for official scoring and to display the largest racks harvested.

Disney on Ice will be in Charleston for several shows over 4 days. This means lots of opportunities to bring the kids and watch them have a blast! If a date night is more your style, you won’t want to miss “Men are from Mars- Women are from Venus LIVE”! This one-man show is a fusion of stand-up and theatre in a light-hearted comedy based on the best seller by John Gray.

There is SO much going on in January this year and the year is just getting started!!!
